How long does Invisalign take to straighten your teeth?
This question is difficult to answer with any accuracy because everyone who is seeking treatment comes to us with different needs. Generally speaking, though, the average treatment time for adults is 12 to 15 months and about 24 months for teens.
The process for straightening teeth with Invisalign is done in several stages:
First, you will have a consultation with Dr. Cordes who will evaluate your needs and let you know if Invisalign is the right choice for you. Once we agree to proceed, he will take images and x-rays of your teeth that will be used to map out your treatment to determine how your treatment will progress. This information is then sent to an Invisalign lab that customizes several sets of clear aligners.
In a couple of weeks, we’ll have you return to our office to give you your trays and explain how to wear them. In most cases, you’ll wear each set for about two weeks, then move to the next set in the series. You will continue in this way until you have gone through all your aligners and treatment is finished.
If you live in the Apex, NC area and are interested in Invisalign, please call Dr. John F. Cordes to arrange your consultation.
